Malden Police Nab Suspect in Thursday Afternoon Shooting

Police have confirmed that a shooting occurred at a Shawmut Street basketball court in Malden at approximately 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Reps from Malden Police say they have a suspect in custody.

The victim admitted himself to a hospital, and his account of the situation led to a prompt arrest, say police.

The department says further arrests may come about in light of evidence gathered from the scene, though they decline to release more information at the moment.
