Malden Woman Calls Man a Cutie, Then Mugs Him, Say Police
Police have charged Jessica DeSouza, 23, of Malden, with unarmed robbery in Somerville.

When a woman approaches a strange man on the street and declares amorous intentions, the four most common explanations are as follows.....
She could be an actress conducting a social experiment, and the encounter is secretly being filmed in hopes of producing a viral YouTube video.
She could simply have amorous intentions and no ulterior agenda.

She could be offering to fake or exaggerate amorous intentions in exchange for the most common of all ulterior agendas.
Or, as Somerville Police say was the case on Tuesday, May 5, she could be planning to lure her hapless lover boy somewhere out of the way so her buddies can beat him up and take his wallet.

According to police, on May 5 at 1:19 a.m., a man walking home from Sullivan Station encountered Jessica DeSouza, 23, of Malden, nearby Joe’s Liquors at 160 Broadway.
Police say DeSouza remarked on her-soon-be-alleged robbery victim’s handsomeness, and asked if he wanted to go for a walk with her.
And go for a walk they did - until they got to the corner of Brook Street and Glen Street, where three males descended on DeSouza’s rube, and took his wallet and cell phone, say police.
DeSouza and her accomplices fled and the victim ran after them yelling for help. One of the males involved - a juvenile - doubled back and attacked the victim again on the corner of Glen Street and Broadway. The commotion attracted the attention of Somerville Police.
As DeSouza and one of her juvenile accomplices apparently decided to hide in front of 161 Broadway, police say they had little difficulty tracking them down, and their alleged victim had little trouble pointing them out.
Both DeSouza and her young companion struggled with police during their arrest, according to the authorities, and have been charged with unarmed robbery, resisting arrest, assault and battery, and assault and battery on a police officer.
