MWRA Work on Wednesday May Cause Discolored Water
Residents from the Maplewood area to Grenada Highlands could see discolored water for 2-3 days because of the installation of a new water valve.

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) will be installing a new water valve in Malden on Wednesday, Sept 12, which may cause discolored water for 2-3 days from the Maplewood area to Grenada Highlands, according to an MWRA press release.
Discolored water, if seen, results from a small amount of iron in local pipes, the MWRA said in the press release.
"While safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used," the press release said. "Residents near this location should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work."
