Teen's Stabbing Leads to Everett Man's Arrest

An Everett man was arraigned on assault charges in Malden District Court on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
Everett Police arrested Osmin Murcia, 19, of Everett, on Wednesday, according to Police Chief of Police Steven A. Mazzie. He is charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and armed assault with intent to murder.

Everett High School quarterback Marvens Fedna was stabbed in the early morning hours of Nov. 1, following a high school football playoff victory, according to Everett Police. Fedna, 16, was stabbed in the back while trying to help someone on his way home from a party Halloween night, according to 7News/whdh.com.
“I commend the members of the Everett Police Department for the identification of the stabbing suspect that resulted in the arrest today,” Chief Steven Mazzie said. “Our follow up investigation was intense and detailed from the beginning and hopefully this brings some closure to all involved.”

All suspects arrested by the Everett Police Department are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
“This was an unfortunate and isolated incident in the City of Everett.” said Mayor Carlo DeMaria in an Everett Police post. “I want to thank both the Everett Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit and the Massachusetts’ State Police for their diligent efforts to arrest this individual. I am thankful and proud of their work.”
