'School Safety Plan' Overhaul Proposed

The Mayor's office announced a public meeting scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11 to discuss changes to the Malden Public School safety plan.

Students and their family members are invited to a public meeting to review a proposed "overhaul" of the school district's safety plan, the city announced this week.

Superintendent David DeRuosi and Linden School Vice Principal Peter Dolan worked with members of the Malden Emergency Management team to prepare a "thorough school safety preparedness plan" they will propose to the city's school board.

Dolan will share information about the proposed operations plan, Crisis Recovery Team safety upgrades, trainings, drills and enhanced lockdowns as well as other safety changes to be implemented.
