Somerville Man Charged In Malden Shooting: DA
A 33-year-old Malden woman was injured in the shooting, which may have been part of an attempted robbery.
MALDEN, MA — A Somerville man is facing multiple charges in connection to a Sunday shooting in Malden that left a woman seriously injured, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said.
The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday when Mohamed Abdulaziz, 35, entered the lobby of a building along Overlook Drive carrying a gun. Police believe Abdulaziz entered the building to rob a man who was also in the lobby.
During the incident, Abdulaziz fired his weapon, hitting the 33-year-old bystander, Ryan said in a news release. The intended target of the robbery also fired a gun. He has not been found.

Both the victim and Abdulaziz are still hospitalized.
Abdulaziz was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition.
