2018 Mansfield Election Primary Results

Find out who is moving on to November's general election.

MANSFIELD, MA — If you were expecting any surprises in Mansfield during the 2018 primary election, you were surely disappointed.

Republican Governor Charlie Baker has defeated Republican primary opponent in Scott Lively. Baker will now face Democrat Jay Gonzalez. In Mansfield, Baker beat Lively 726 votes to 361 and Gonzalez beat Bob Massie 893 to 375.

In one of the more anticipated statewide races, Democratic Secretary of State William Galvin soundly beat Boston City Councilor Josh Zakim in the Democratic primary, taking 1,086 votes in Mansfield to Zakim's 406.

Democratic U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren's general election opponent will be Republican state Rep. Geoff Diehl. The Whitman Republican beat John Kingston and Beth Lindstrom and picked up 626 votes in Mansfield to Kingston's 188 and Lindstrom's 248.

Democratic Congressman Joseph Kennedy III's held off primary opponent Gary Rucinski. He earned 1,436 votes in Mansfield while Rucinski received 81.

Democratic state Senator Paul Feeney will face Republican Jacob Ventura of Attleboro in November for the second time in about a year. Feeney slightly edged Ventura in last October's special election. Both candidates were unopposed Tuesday.

Republican state Rep. Jay Barrows was unopposed Tuesday night and will not have a Democratic opponent in November.
