Here's Why Balloons Will Be Over Branch Street Saturday
It's all part of a test for a proposed wireless tower.

MANSFIELD, MA — Don't be surprised if you see red balloons over Branch Street Saturday.
The Town of Mansfield announced Friday that Eco-Site/T-Mobile will be conducting balloon tests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 251 Branch St. and 300 Branch St. The red balloons will be flown at approximately 90 feet, the same height as a proposed wireless tower, according to the town notice.
The work is being done in anticipation of a Sept. 12 special permit public hearing in front of the planning board.

The site is located near the solar farm on the street and has drawn criticism from some neighbors. Town Manager Kevin Dumas that using the Mansfield Cable Access site has been considered as well.
