Hero's Corner Dedication Set For Next Friday

The ceremony will take place prior to the Mansfield High School football team's game against Everett.

MANSFIELD, MA — The American flag, flags for the five branches of the military, and a POW/MIA flag now stand tall behind the back turn of the track and football field at Mansfield High School and next week, the Hero's Corner will be formally dedicated.

A ceremony is scheduled for next Friday, prior to the Mansfield High School football team's game against Everett. Veterans will raise the flags followed by the National Anthem, according to the Sun Chronicle. A second ceremony is set for halftime.

Rich Palanza and Mark Schafter of the Mansfield Gridiron Club told the school committee last year that they wanted Hero's Corner to be in a high traffic area that the students can see and called the spot an ideal location.
