Man Killed After Losing Control Of Car In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, MA — A man died in a crash after losing control of his BMW on Interstate 495 in Mansfield early Thursday morning, Massachusetts State Police confirmed to Patch Thursday afternoon.
The man was driving at a high speed around 4 a.m. when he changed lanes, losing control of the car and sliding off-road before hitting the guardrail and entering the center median, police said.
He was the only occupant of the car and died on the scene, police said.

ABC6 reported that the crash occurred near exit 31.
The leftmost lanes of both the northbound and southbound sides of I-495 were closed through 10:30 a.m. Thursday for the investigation and replacement of the guardrail, according to police.

The man's name is not being released at this time as notification of next-of-kin is ongoing, police said.
