Mansfield Football Dominates Waltham, One Win From State Crown

The Hornets opened a massive lead early on and cruised to the semifinal win.

Mansfield High School dominated Waltham from start to finish on Saturday in the Division 2 state semifinal, pounding the Hawks and advancing to play for a state championship in two weeks.

The Hornets scored on their first six drives and took a 35-0 lead into the half. With back ups playing the entire second half, Mansfield chewed the clock and went on to a 41-0 win.

Following the victory, the Hornets will play either Springfield Central or St. John’s of Shrewsbury on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Gillette Stadium with a Division 2 state championship on the line.
