Mansfield Police Log: 128 MPH, Slight of Hand and Hit and Runs

June 19

11:53 a.m.  David Kinnally, 52, of Massachusetts was arrested for shoplifting by asportation and disorderly conduct. Security at Stop and Shop allegedly ran down Kinnally in the direction of Route 140. Kinnally was riding a bicycle and was able to avoid Stop and Shop security. Mansfield police picked him up later on Copeland Drive.

3:46 p.m. Caller reported her son had attacked her daughter on Cottage Street.

6:40 p.m. Caller reported that his motor vehicle was hit by a softball while passing the softball fields on East Street.

June 20

6:37 p.m. Caller reported he attempted to buy a vehicle on Ebay. The account was fraudulent and the reporting party has lost $11,000.

6:52 p.m. Calle reported being rear ended at the lights at the intersection of School Street and Route 140 and the offending vehicle drove away.

7:58 p.m. Scott Campion, 33, of 171 Brookfield Ln. in Agawam was arrested for violating his harassment order.

June 21

8:03 a.m. Caller reported that money and jewelry was stolen from his daughter’s house on Cottage Street.

8:43 a.m. Caller reported the tires and rims of his vehicle were stolen during the night while it was parked at the Twin Oaks Building on Oak Street.

1:00 p.m. Caller reported that a robbery had just taken place at her residence on Judys Lane. The robbery occurred when one suspect allegedly lured her out of the house while trying to show her a crack in the foundation that required repair. When she returned to the inside of the house, several valuables and a lock box was missing.

3:42 p.m. Caller reported that he witnessed a vehicle back into and heavily damage a shipping cart holder in the parking lot of Petco.

9:40 p.m. Caller reported being pulled over on the side of Balcom Street by a police officer, who he said he did not believe to be a real police officer while he was driving on his motorcycle. He stated that the officer said “he was going to put a bullet in his brain” if the reporting party did not hand over his license. The reporting party handed over his license and called the police after the male party left. Massachusetts State Police responded to the claim, and said that the trooper was following another party suspected of operation of a vehicle while intoxicated when the reporting party passed the trooper (while the trooper was traveling at 105 miles per hour and clocked the reporting party at 128 miles per hour). The trooper said that he stopped the motorcycle by getting in front of the vehicle. State police said that the trooper gave the cyclist ten seconds to give him his license so the license could be suspended.
