Mansfield Students Head Back To School: What To Know

School in Mansfield starts back up Sept. 5.

MANSFIELD, MA — It's that time again. School is right around the corner and in all corners of Mansfield, nearly 3,900 students are getting their last days of vacation in and some are even starting to think about what to wear that first day back at school. When is that? It's Sept. 5 for most students. But there are other questions that pop up along with that big one.

So, as school gets ready to get into full swing here are some important facts:

The First Day of School

  • Grades 1-12: Sept. 5
  • Kindergarten: Sept. 7
  • Preschool: Sept. 7

New Staff

There will be 16 new teachers in the schools, according to Superintendent Teresa Murphy.

The First Off Day

The first day will be Oct. 8 for Columbus Day, with half-days for staff development the previous Thursday and Friday.

School Committee Schedule
