Selectmen had considered the idea of a parking lot, but it was deemed too costly just to level a building when there are empty lots, though not in the possession of the town, in the downtown area.
So, this building, located in downtown but not on North Main Street, has a unique position. It's out of the way but still very near a major area of the town.
