3. The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud: Marblehead for the novel the film is based on, and its character, places, and people played a role in setting the tone for author Ben Sherwood's "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud."

4. Beach Chair Diaries: Summer Tales from Maine to Maui: Written by Marbleheader Janet Spurr, the book is a collection of essays about summer, sand and the joy of relaxing on the beach.

5. Split Image: Written by Robert B. Parker, this Jesse Stone novel is set in "Paradise." Paradise is suspiciously like Marblehead with a Neck and all. Worth a read to figure out if we're living in Paradise, of course, most Marblehead residents already know that.
