5 Things You Need To Know Today, March 4

Breathe a sigh of relief, it's Friday and the weather is actually warming up. Here are 5 things you need to know today:

1. Today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 33 degrees. Just hold on for one more day, Saturday and Sunday are suppose to be in the 40's and 50's. 

2. Did you see our Patch Picks yesterday for local books? Start collecting the 5 books of the list - beach days will be here before you know it.

3. Have coffee with Parents and guardians are welcome to join Principal Ken Weinstein for a cup of coffee and educational updates. This meeting will cover what GPA's are and the importance of the GPA, and the art trip to the ICA.

4.will kick off today at Cinema Salem at 5 p.m.: Salem Film Fest Shorts by various directors. 7 p.m.: Echotone directed by Nathan Christ. 9:30 p.m.: Player Hating: A Love Story directed by Maggie Hadleigh-West. Admission can be paid for each movie individually or with an all movie pass.

5. All friends and current and former adult family members of Marblehead Youth Hockey —and hockey in general— are invited to attend a tonight at the Gerry 5 at 8 p.m.. The party, with music provided by a DJ, will have incredible auction items such as Bruins and Hockey East tickets, Red Sox Box Tickets, BC football tickets and more. The party will also feature numerous raffle items. There will even be a tuition raffle in which the winner will receive 50 percent off tuition for next year’s hockey program. Proceeds from the event will go towards Marblehead Youth Hockey Association's 2011-2012 initiatives. Tickets are $30 at the door.
