Aces Full: Marblehead's Tedesco Country Club Celebrates 4 Holes-In-One On Same Day
John Kane, Lisa DeSalvo, Susie Ryan, and Ray Colwell all recorded an ace on the par-3 8th hole on Friday.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — In a good year, the par-3 8th hole at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead may be the site of four holes-in-one over the course of an entire season.
On Friday, it happened four times on the same hole on the same day.
John Kane, Lisa DeSalvo and Susie Ryan accomplished the feat all within about 90 minutes during the morning with Ray Colwell doing so late in the afternoon.

"The morning into the afternoon was quite frenzied," Tedesco Head Golf Professional Ryan Train told Patch on Monday. "Word about it began to spread quite rapidly throughout the golf course.
What's even more amazing is that just two days later Holly Zmetrovich made it five aces on the same hole in three days — as DeSalvo golfed one hole away in the next party on Sunday.

"It was a pretty wild day around the club," Train said of Friday. "We do this thing whenever someone gets a hole-in-one that we switch out the flag and they get to keep it.
"We changed the flag three times in two hours on Friday."
Train, who has been at the Tedesco for four years, said the club averaged three to five holes-in-one per year with an occasional sixth or seventh. He said he does not believe there have ever been two in one day during regular play.

"We do a marathon sprint for the Francis Ouimet Scholarship every year on that hole and we might have 800 or 900 shots in an hour," he said. "I remember one year we had two holes-in-one with all of those shots, and we were blown away with that, so to have four different people do it with one shot was really exciting."
Adding to the excitement for all the Tedesco golfers was the tradition of giving a round on the house to celebrate a hole-and-one — though Train noted for safety purposes it was determined to give one on the course Friday to celebrate all three aces.

There is a plaque at Tedesco CC, updated yearly, that lists all of the women who have found the bottom of the cup on one shot through the years with Train telling Patch that DeSalvo's ace on Friday was her third in just the last three years.
"It was just a nuts day," Train said.
