Here is what happened in town this week.

The week started with the news flu shots are starting early this year to compete with flu season demand. 

The Disney Channel also announced they would be in town Friday to shoot scenes for an upcoming special on family trees. They will be featuring a Florida boy with ties to the Gerry family.

On Tuesday, hundreds turned out to remember Allie Castner on the one year-anniversary of her death.

Driving rain was the story of the week as downtown streets experienced minor flooding and waves crashed onto Devereux Beach.

At Wednesday night's Board of Selectmen meeting, three new people were appointed to local boards.

Thursday had some breaking news events as a gas line was ruptured in front of the Glover School in the morning. Later in the day, the town announced six local beaches would be closed due to high bacteria counts until Saturday. Five of the six beaches are now open.

Sheriff Frank Cousins made a stop in town Thursday night to jump start his re-election campaign. 

On Saturday, locals got a treat as 19th century fire apparatus paraded through town before competing in a mustering competition.
