Boston Bombing Survivor's Lost Prosthetic Leg Has Happy Ending

Adrianne Haslet-Davis took to Twitter to get back an important possession.

A Boston marathon bombing survivor said American Airlines lost her prosthetic leg, but it was eventually tracked down after she flexed some social media power.

Adrianne Haslet-Davis, a Marblehead resident, hasn’t let a lost leg from the April 2013 attack deter her dreams of being a ballroom dancer.

She had a prosthetic leg made for her at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab and has become something of an inspiration for her fighting spirit.

With the help of more than 400 retweets — and angry tweets from some of her nearly 4,000 followers — it appears the bag has been tracked down.

“Great news! @AmericanAir had its best people on it and found it! A little jealous it got to travel somewhere pretty,” Haslet-Davis tweeted. “Also, I’m working on something huge after a great brainstorming sesh w @AmericanAir Thank you for listening & seeing a great need for amputees! Xo”

American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein couldn’t confirm any details of the incident, including any airports she was flying to or from, for privacy reasons in a phone call with Patch.

But he did tell Patch, “Her bag has been located and we will reunite her with it as soon as possible.”

Patch has also reached out to Haslet-Davis, and we’ll let you know if we hear back.
