Get Your Beatles Fix This Weekend
Benefit concert will raise money for town schools

The name of the benefit says it all. Saturday night's Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da Benefit at the Unitarian Universalist Church will aim to have you humming "Drive My Car" all the way home.
For the past five years, Kathy Sands-Boehmer has worked to produce and organize the concert each year. While the concert first started as a way to raise funds to make a bathroom handicap accessible, today the benefit has turned into a community project.
Proceeds from the benefit will go toward bringing musicians in the schools to teach lessons such as "the science of music."

"We came up with The Beatles theme because everyone knows The Beatles," Sands-Boehmer said. "We will have eight performers and each bring their own take on the Beatles."
Many of the performers are back this year after having such a great time last year, Sands-Boehmer said.

"Eric Lee will come with his rock band and fiddle and does an amazing rendition," she said. "He even plays the fiddle behind his back."
All professional musicians, Sands-Boehmer said the benefit is a hidden treasure in town.
"They want to give back," Sands-Boehmer said, noting she hopes to sell out the 275 seats set up for the concert.
To see the show, tickets can be purchased at the door or on the church's Website
Tickets are $15 for students and seniors, $20 general admission, $45 family price.
