HCPro Moving Out Of Town

Marblehead-based HCPro, one of the largest employers in town, announced today it will move from its 200 Hoods Lane location to a new space on Sylvan Street in Danvers. 

Based in Marblehead for 15 years, the company specializes in providing written material about various aspects of health care and health care compliance. 

In an e-mail from CEO Brian Bussey to his employees, Bussey said the Marblehead office's lease expires in September and the decision to move to Danvers came after evaluating other available options, including extending the lease at the Marblehead location and finding "higher quality" options near highways.

"I am very pleased to announce that we have selected a new location for our corporate headquarters. Effective this fall, the company's headquarters will be based at: 75 Sylvan Street Danvers, MA 01923," Bussey wrote to employees this morning. 

Bussey went on to say; "This was not an easy decision as HCPro has deep roots in the Marblehead community after spending over 15 years at our current location."

Bussey said the benefits of moving to Danvers will also align the company with their "strategic and financial objectives." 

Retaining and attracting talent, high performance goals, better accessibility to the airport and highways and improved collaboration are among the reasons Bussey listed as justifying the move. 

He also mentioned the new space in Danvers has a shared cafeteria, an exercise facility and locker rooms for showering.

 The Greeley Company, a division of the company, will also be moving into the new space within 90 days of the Marblehead office moving. 

The company was founded in 1986 as OPUSCOMM Corp. and changed its name to HCPro, Inc., in 2000. With its headquarters in Marblehead, HCPro, Inc., has other offices in Richmond, VA,  and Nashville, TN, which houses some of its HealthLeaders Media staff.

In recent years, HCPro, which employs dozens of healthcare writers, as well as broadcast events, marketing, finance and customer service employees in its Marblehead location, has shed staff and reduced the amount of space needed at its Hoods Lane location. For the past few years, the company had been exploring new space and reportedly looked at locations in Peabody and Beverly, while also looking into whether to stay at its Marblehead location.
