Kids Jump into Water From Crane, Man Upset About Can Collector

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log from Thursday through Friday morning. 

  • At 8:23 a.m. Thursday, a resident of Ralph Road called police about a man picking through his trash. The resident told police the man took a money magazine and when he told him to leave, he said he was picking cans. Police told the resident once trash is put curbside, it is public domain.
  • At 12:03 p.m. Thursday, a person stopped a police officer on Seaview and Atlantic avenues to tell him since the construction started, "traffic is ridiculous."
  • At 2:07 p.m. Thursday, police and fire responded to a crash with air bag deployment on Smith and Pleasant streets. Both cars were towed from the scene and one of the drivers was issued a citation. No one was injured in the accident.
  • Kids were found jumping from a crane on Redstone Lane at 4:53 p.m. Police told the kids to stop.
  • At 9:20 p.m. Thursday, someone walked into the station to alert police, power was out to Rowland Street. The Electric Department fixed the problem.
  • At 7:24 a.m. Friday, residents of Pleasant Street told police there was a beeping noise coming from the basement of the property next door. Police and fire found a malfunctioning detector.
