Local Patch Editors Give 5 For Marblehead
Patch editors from the North Shore participated in a day-of-service Tuesday.
Part of Patch's mission is to not just cover the news in the community it serves, but also give back to the community it serves.
In keeping with this mission, Patches across the country Tuesday volunteered in their community as part of Give 5 day.
Local editors from Marblehead, Salem, Danvers and Hamilton/Wenham joined together in Marblehead and volunteered their afternoon to Community of Friends.

At Community of Friends, local editors helped provide 540 children-in-need with backpacks & school supplies. Editors sorted through donations and helped put tags with in-need childrens' names in envelopes.
Over the summer, the organization has been collecting backpacks and supplies for children aged pre-school to seniors in high school. Now, the organization is starting to put the supplies in the backpacks and get them to children before the start of school.
