Lynch Wedding Draws Crowds

Dozens of locals, armed with beach chairs, lined Atlantic Avenue Saturday afternoon to catch a glipse of Fidelity executive Peter Lynch's daughter Elizabeth and her husband-to-be-French count and lawyer Gonzague Mariede Montrichard of Paris.

During Saturday's 4 p.m. Mass at Our Lady Star Of The Sea, parishioners whispered about the church, decorated entirely in white roses.

Two large pillars lined the alter while other white roses could be seen lining the columns in the church and the entrance. The flowers were provided by Winston Flowers of Boston.

Within minutes of clearing the church after the 4 p.m. Mass, black-clad staff from Rafanelli Events in Boston set to work.

Over the course of the proceeding hour, guests -- some dressed in lavish French fashion, funneled into the church. Atlantic Avenue gradually filled with onlookers, who clapped wildly when Peter Lynch arrived.

On the street, locals called the flowers "very French" and remarked about the beauty of Elizabeth Lynch's understated, elegant gown.

In the wedding program, the bride and groom wrote to guests:

"We would like to recognize our families and especially Mommy and Daddy, our sisters, and brothers for their support throughout the years as well as their help in creating this special day in our lives."

The note went on to say, "We are very grateful for all of the love they give to us each day. We would also like to thank our friends who have come from near and far to encourage and celebrate with us -- Elizabeth and Gonzague." 

The fireworks, white rings and others resembling flowers, set off for a dazzling display at 8:45 p.m.
