Man Charged With Rape After Saturday Wedding
Robert Wiebel will be back in court on August 13 for a probable cause hearing.
A New Jersey man who was in town for a wedding is now charged with rape after an early morning incident Sunday.
Robert C.B. Wiebel, 26, of 7 Island Trail, Sparta, N.J., is charged with rape after he allegedly touched a fellow party go-er inappropriately while she tried to sleep.
Wiebel was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge Albert Conlon, according to the Essex County District Attorney's office.

According to court reports, around 3 a.m. Sunday, police responded to 1 Kimbal St., and found the 23-year-old victim and her boyfriend.
According to police, the victim had been drinking at an after party for the Saturday night wedding before heading to bed around 1 a.m. Once asleep, she was awoken by Wiebel, who allegedly climbed on top of her and placed his hand down her pants.
Wiebel is the director of Econo-Pak in Sussex, N.J., and denies assaulting the victim. The victim ran from the room and told her boyfriend, who then got into an argument with Wiebel. Another friend brought Wiebel to his room at the Eastern Yacht Club to diffuse the situation according to court records. Police later found Wiebel in his room.

On Monday, Wiebel was held on $1,500 cash bail. He must stay away from the victim. A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 13.
