Marblehead Police ID Victim In Tuesday's Fatal Crash

Police have identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal car accident.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – A driver in a car accident on Tuesday was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Marblehead Police. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital.

Police identified the victim as John Yahoodik, 69, of Marblehead. The second driver – a 71-year-old Lynn man was taken to the hospital – was not identified by name.

According to a statement from Marblehead Police, a detail officer on Ocean Avenue reported a car speeding off of Marblehead Neck on Tuesday. Dispatch later reported a car crash at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Beach Street.

Both cars involved experienced extensive front-end damage. Marblehead Police, firefighters, and Atlantic Ambulance responded. Police are withholding all names until relatives have been notified.

According the a post on the Corinthian Yacht Club Facebook page, the accident closed the Causeway.
