MARBLEHEAD, MA — Without community leaders, Marblehead Patch wouldn't hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We'd miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

They have dedicated their time, efforts, and abilities to make Marblehead’s local government more diverse, accountable, inclusive, and transparent. Also calling out the racism and antisemitism that is present in the town and government.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

She is a kind, passionate, loving person who wants all to feel heard, welcome, and included in government affairs and daily life. She is persistent and educated, but dedicated to educating herself continuously to stay connected and current, because knowledge is ever-growing.

Sweeney received multiple nominations for recognition from Patch and T-Mobile.

Rosalyn Minassi said: "Megan Sweeney is committed to raising awareness and deepening engagement through a coalition of like-minded people in town government and to GOTV in town, state and Presidential elections. Prepared with FACTS, meaning Sweeney does her homework well in advance and strives to find a solution to benefit the well-being of her sleepy seaside, town of Marblehead, where many of the residents in years past, took their Voting Rights for granted!"

Susan Post said: "She is passionate and cares deeply about her fellow citizens regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status etc. every voice is important to Megan especially those of the marginalized.
