Marblehead Native to Get Governor's, Mayor's Endorsement on Friday

Gov. Deval Patrick and Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll plan to make an endorsement on Friday in the Sixth Congressional District race.

In the November general election, Moulton will face Republican Richard Tisei of Wakefield and independent Chris Stockwell of Marblehead in the race for the Sixth District seat in Congress. The district includes 39 cities and towns on the North Shore and north of Boston, stretching from Salisbury and Newburyport in the north to Lynn and Swampscott in the south. From east to west, it stretches from Rockport to Bedford, and includes Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, Marblehead, Peabody and Salem.

Neither Patrick and Driscoll, both Democrats, made an endorsement before the primary, which included a crowded field of Democrats. In addition to Tierney and Moulton, the field included three other candidates.

Patrick and Driscoll will be joined by “other elected officials” at the 2:30 p.m. event in Derby Square, according to Moulton’s campaign announcement.
