Marblehead Pickleball Tournament To 'Fund The Field' In April

Proceeds from the April 27-28 tournament will benefit the revitalization of Piper Field.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead residents — and pickleball enthusiasts throughout the North Shore — are invited to take part in a tournament to "Fund the Field" revitalization of Piper Field in April.

The event at Marblehead Veterans School is set for April 27 and April 28. There are morning and afternoon sessions with a donation fee of $60 per session per day.

All skill levels are invited and a partner is not required. Each participant is guaranteed 90 minutes of playtime. Spectators are welcome.

"This is the first pickleball tournament in Marblehead," tournament organizer Lisa Spinelli told Patch. "We are excited to help raise money for 'Fund the Field.' Everyone will have a great time and our pickleball enthusiasts will make this a memorable experience."

Funds will go toward the renovation of Piper Field, which has reached the end of its 10-year lifespan.

The 2023 Fund the Field Campaign was established to both maintain and revitalize Piper Field in exciting, community-driven ways.
