In a Facebook post, the department shared some of its long history with the town.

For example, did you know that the Marblehead Police used to ride on horses in addition to patrolling on foot? They used to have a K-9 unit as well.

Like most other police stations, they've moved on to bikes an patrol cars these days. They also used to have a police ambulance service and a harbor patrol boat, which have been regretfully retired.
