MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead residents will once again be able to park on town streets this winter — except for when it snows.

The Select Board reaffirmed the town's winter snow emergency parking policy that allows for overnight parking unless a snow emergency is declared. In that case, residents must move cars off town streets from midnight to 7 a.m.

In the event of a multi-day snow event, the parking ban will resume at midnight each day until conditions improve.

In 2020, a vote of town meeting approved the ability of the Select Board to set the snow emergency parking policy on a trial basis, which has been reinstated each subsequent year since.

All vehicles and boats must be removed from town streets during a snow emergency. Those not removed are subject to towing at the owner's expense.
