Chinese Filmmaker To Screen 2 Films At Cinema Salem After NYC Festival Cancellation
Zhu Rikun accepted Cinema Salem's invitation to screen his films after the cancellation of NYC's IndieChinese Film Fest last month.

SALEM, MA — Cinema Salem this weekend will screen two productions from Chinese filmmaker Zhu Rikun after he accepted the theater's invitation to show the films following the cancellation of the first IndieChinese Film Fest in New York City last month.
Organizers cancelled the NYC festival after the Chinese government put pressure on participating filmmakers and their families not to attend.
Cinema Salem contacted the fest organizer, Zhu Rikun, and offered an alternative to show his work in the United States.

Cinema Salem owner Marshall Strauss said he is honored to present "No Desire to Hide" and "The Questioning", two films by Rikun, and "Tangle" by Liu Yonghong, another film that was scheduled to be shown in NYC.
Rikun will attend the Salem screenings and discuss his films and the cancelled festival.
