Marblehead Village Street Bridge Work Through Friday
The work, which was to begin Wednesday, will include restrictions on the westbound lane of Village Street.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead residents traveling in the area of Village Street are advised to expect delays because of bridge work through Friday.
Marblehead Director of Public Works Robert Dever said the work was to begin Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. is expected to last three days.
"Every attempt will be made to not interfere with school pick up and drop off," Dever said.

Drivers should anticipate that access on the westbound lane of Village Street between Pleasant and Highland Terrace will be restricted at times.
Those with any questions are asked to contact the Highway Department at 781-631-1750.

There were also detours in the area of the Elm/Spring/Sewall Street intersection scheduled for Wednesday for digging in preparation for upcoming roadwork.
MBTA service was to continue through the area.
"We would encourage anyone not having business in that area to avoid it," Marblehead police said.
All businesses in the area were open.
That work was set to be completed by Wednesday afternoon.
