Marblehead Votes Out Incumbent School Committee Member

Emily L. Barron will join the Marblehead School Committee after scoring an upset in the municipal election.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Incumbent Sarah Jane Gold and challenger Emily L. Barron won a four-way race for two school committee seats up for reelection in Tuesday's Marblehead election.

In the process, they ousted incumbent school committee Jennifer A. Schaeffner, who finished a distant fourth. Meanwhile, Lisa Wolf defeated incumbent Michael Tumulty for a seat on the Marblehead Municipal Light Commission.

In the only other contested, town-wide race, incumbent Jackie Belf-Becker, Moses Grader, Judith R. Jacobi and James E. Nye and newcomer David Depew topped Moses Grader.
