Hundreds of flags were placed at the grave sites of local veterans this morning at Waterside Cemetery.

Below are the events scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend:

Sunday, May 25, at  9 a.m., there will be a special veterans service at Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church at 80 Atlantic Ave. Veterans are welcome and invited to congregate at 8:45 a.m.

On Monday a Memorial Day Parade at the Old Town House begins at 8 a.m. with procession to the Clark Landing service; the main parade begins at 9 a.m.
