
There is no danger at after the high school received an e-mail threat late Monday night.
Superintendent Dr. Gregory Maass released the following statement after the district conducted an investigation with the police department:
"Late yesterday evening, the Marblehead Public Schools received a report of a possible threat at the high school involving the rumor of a weapon. School administration immediately contacted the Marblehead police and followed protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of our students and staff," the statement said. "The police and district administrators conducted an investigation into this report. After investigation by both the police and school administration, the school administration and police department determined that there is no current threat to students or staff at the high school and that a reckless statement was made which resulted in a rumor that was repeated by others."

"We are pleased that one of the students who heard the rumor came forward to report it and we thank all of the students and others who cooperated in the investigation," Maass wrote.
On Tuesday morning, the school department told parents there was no known danger and they supported any decision parents made to keep their children home from school.
