MHS Spanish Class Learns Latin Dances

Recently, Marblehead High School Spanish Students got to shake, swizzle and shimmy to show what they learned in class.

The students participated in a six-week enrichment class funded by a grant from The Friends of Marblehead Public Schools.

"They enjoyed it so much and clearly took the exhibition seriously," Spanish teacher Candice Sliney said. "Even doing rehearsals on the weekend at Greg Coles' studio in Marblehead."

Local dance professional and teacher, Greg Coles taught the students a variety of Latin dance styles for six weeks. There was a culminating dance performance for each class. Students learned Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Latin Hip Hop.
