Missing Marblehead High School Students Back At Home: Superintendent

The two METCO students from Boston were reported missing after they took the bus to school on Wednesday but never entered the building.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Two Marblehead High School METCO students reported missing on Wednesday after they reportedly took the bus from Boston but never reported to school were located safely, according to Marblehead Superintendent John Buckey.

"I am relieved and heartened to report that our missing students have been reunited with their families," Buckey said in a message to the school community Friday morning. "I want to
extend my appreciation to the Marblehead Police and Boston Police Departments for their collaboration and support during this time.

"Our community once again demonstrated our ability to come together and support our students, staff and families in a time of need. As I shared at the School Committee meeting (Thursday) night, I am grateful for our local media outlets who immediately helped in getting the word out.

Marblehead and Boston police had sought the public's help locating the teen girls on Thursday morning after they reportedly took the bus to school from Boston, but then apparently turned around and took the MBTA back to Boston. They had last been seen exiting a bus near the Government Center subway station.
