Police Log: An Unpleasant Package At The Door
This is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log Tuesday, June 29 at 6 a.m. to Wednesday, June 30 at 8 a.m.
- At 8:51 a.m. Tuesday, a Franklin Street man called police to report someone is harassing him through the phone and someone put a pile of "expletive " on his doorstep. He wanted to see an officer about it.
- At 8:59 a.m. Tuesday, a Lee Street woman called police about a large truck idling outside her home, causing her to smell fumes. The woman called back when the truck left.
- An unlocked car parked on Seaview Avenue had a camera, camera lens, camera case, navigation system and a heart monitor stolen from it.
- At 1:04 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that he parked on the street in front of a house on Atlantic Avenue and when he left his vehicle that morning there was no damage; the person said another vehicle was in the driveway of the house that he parked in front of. When he returned, he found a damaged right rear tail light and damage to the quarter panel. He went to the house and spoke to a woman who gave him her husband's name. The caller told police the husband was the one who did the damage. When police asked if the man had proof he said the damage happened when the man backed out of his driveway. The woman who answered the door told the man they are sick of people parking and blocking their driveway. The man told police the damage is less than $500 and he will not be contacting his insurance company. He will buy the tail light himself and install it, and then collect money from the homeowner. The man said that when he calls the home owner he is sure he will admit to hitting his car.
- At 3:19 p.m. Swampscott Police called Marblehead to alert them a man was chasing another man down Tedesco Street accusing him of stealing his bike. Officers from both departments responded. When the reporting party saw the bike, he realized it wasn't his. Both parties were sent on their way.
- Police found a motor vehicle in the middle of Clifton Avenue. No one was in the vehicle or around. They believe it rolled from a driveway. Car was towed.
- At 2:58 a.m. Wednesday, multiple calls were placed to the police about fireworks going off on Ocean Avenue. No one was around when police responded.
