Police Log: Drunken Driving Allegedly the Cause Of Saturday Night Accident
This is an excerpt of the Marblehead Police log from Saturday, June 26 through Sunday, June 27 at 7 a.m.
- At 10:46 a.m. a caller told police an "unpleasant male" was standing on the corner of Front Street smoking and hiccuping. Male may possibly be drunk, caller said. No man was found when police checked.
- A juvenile was arrested at 12:52 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery.
- At 1:15 p.m., a Cambridge man called to tell police he and his wife were at Devereaux Beach and got drinks at Lime Rickey's. As they were leaving, his wife suggested they throw their used cups into the trash barrel at the beach. The caller told police he took the two cups to the green unmarked barrel and there was a woman inside the barrel saying that he wasn't a resident and couldn't throw his trash away here. The woman told him the barrels are for taxpayers only. According to the man, the woman continued yelling at him until he made it to the car. The caller told police he was concerned the woman took down his license plate. Police told the caller no one had filed a complaint and he is welcome to throw his trash away in Marblehead.
- A car accident Saturday night at 10:14 p.m. was allegedly the result of drunken driving. Police and fire responded to 131 Pleasant St. and 18 Ocean Ave. for reports of an accident between a 2002 red Ford Escape and a gray 2004 sedan. The airbags of the vehicles were deployed. Police closed the streets surrounding the accident while police and fire worked to clear the scene. Police arrested one of the drivers -- Casey Lynne Sheehan, 17, 307 West Shore Dr., Marblehead, and charged her with driving while under the influence of alcohol, having an open container of alcohol in the car and possession of alcohol while being under 21 years old.
- At 11:37 p.m. Saturday, police arrested Winston H. Washburn, 31, 2 Anderson St., Marblehead, and charged his with domestic assault and battery after he threw a water bottle at the alleged victim in his Anderson St. apartment.
