Police Log: A Strawberry-Stained Boat and a Man Upset with a Cyclist
This is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log from Wednesday, July 7 to Thursday, July 8 at 7 a.m.
- At 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, a man filed a report with police complaining that children threw strawberries at his boat, causing stains on his boat. He already reported it to the harbormaster, but was advised to report it to the police as well.
- At 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, a driver called police to say a female wearing a black top and white shorts was standing in the middle of Cornell Road reading a text message. The driver said the woman seemed intoxicated or "out of it "; the caller has seen her previously with two males holding sleeping bags. Police could not locate the woman.
- At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, an officer came upon a 2-year old out on the sidewalk of Dartmouth Road. When police asked what was going on, the parent said he was "training" the child to not go out on the street and he was hiding and watching the child.
- At 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that he was exiting Marblehead Lobster and an older male on a bicycle went in front of him. According to police, words were exchanged and the bicycle went up Beacon Street. The caller described the man saying, he looked like he was "doing a tour to France." The caller said that he doesn't have to take this. When the caller was a kid, he rode on the sidewalk and now he doesn't speed around because he has four kids, he said.
- At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, a woman went into the police station to complain about skate boarders on School Street. Earlier that day, a kid jumped in front of her while she was driving and the group of kids found it funny, she said.
- At 10:52 p.m. Tuesday, Salem Police called regarding a hit and run that occurred on Veterans Memorial Bridge. Police are searching for a red Jaguar headed toward Marblehead. There were no injuries. but was damage to the other vehicle. Marblehead Police went to the home of the person in question and found a red Jaguar in one of the bays of the driveway. The Jaguar owner said he has no damage to his vehicle and the other person actually hit him. He didn't have a cell phone to call police earlier, he said. Salem Police will speak with him and investigate.
