Police Log: Woman Asks Police Where She Can Hear World Cup
The following in an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log from Sunday, July 11, through Monday, July 12 at 7:30 a.m.
- At 11:03 a.m. Sunday, a Cloutman Lane resident called after spotting a helicopter landing in a field. The two-seater helicopter was blue with yellow tail numbers. Police found the chopper landed to pick up a friend for lunch and soon after took off. Officers responded to the area when the chopper returned to drop the friend back off. Calls came in from Beacon Street and surrounding areas. Police will speak to the helicopter pilot.
- At 2:59 p.m. Sunday, a Farrell Court resident called police to ask what radio station was broadcasting the World Cup Finals. Police let her know they were being broadcast on ABC radio which has broadcast rights for the U.S.A.
- At 5:46 p.m. Sunday, police saw a BMW swerving all over the road coming inbound on Humphrey Street and turned onto Smith Street. Police pulled the vehicle over and found it had four occupants and the driver showed signs of driving while under the influence of alcohol. Jaime A. Villaneuva, 21, 43 Western Ave., Lynn, was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving and marked lanes violation.
- At 7:23 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported he passed Preston beach and there were kids lying in the roadway playing chicken. The caller said the kids were 13 to 15-years old and it was two girls and one boy. Police checked the scene.
- At 7:37 p.m. Sunday, a Taft Street resident reported a female came to her back deck looking for her son. The female had dark hair, and was wearing a white shirt and a jean skirt. The resident said the woman was disoriented or medicated and wasn't making much sense. Police found the woman walking from Taft Street on Lattimer Street and told the woman she couldn't go on people's property and start conversations. Police said the woman seemed OK.
- At 8:43 p.m. Sunday, a Farrell Court woman called police to tell them she received three calls from a young male that says "what's up?" She also got a text message from the same number and it had said "what's up? " The number was private. Police told her she could pursue the issue with her phone company, but the woman told police she would "drop it" for the night.
