Police Log: Red Kayak Found and $5,000 Worth Of Silver Lost

This is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Log on Monday, August 2.

  • At 8:24 a.m. Monday, a Rowland Street resident reported about $5,000 worth of silver was taken from the home. The man believes his daughter is responsible and then sold the silver to a downtown shop.
  • At 8:28 a.m. Monday, a person walked into the station after seeing motor oil spilled on the tennis courts on Wyman Road. A report was taken.
  • At 9:12 a.m. Monday, a Moynihan Lumber  truck took down a wire while attempting to deliver to 15 Knight Ave. The Electric Department was notified.
  • At 9:47 a.m. Monday, a red Old Town kayak was found near 107 Ocean Ave. No sticker or any information was on the boat. 
  • At 12:41 p.m. Monday, a Leggs Hill Road resident voiced concern over the recent paving of Leggs Hill Road. He believes it is causing more vehicles to speed on the roadway and was looking for increased traffic enforcement.
  • A Commercial Street resident called police at 4:57 p.m. Monday, after seeing a Jeep with no license plates, back into their driveway.
  • A person on Intrepid Circle called police at 7:27 p.m. Monday, after seeing teens trying doors to access an area that was previously spray painted. Some kids had bikes, others had skateboards. The kids were gone when police arrived.
  • At 7:37 p.m. a Brooks Road resident called police to tell them a car was driving up and down the street "checking houses."
