Police Log: Minor Ambulance Accident and Suspicious Woman Surveys Resident About Dogs

This is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log on Wednesday, June 30.

  • At 7:59 a.m. Wednesday, a Harbor View Lane resident told police that on a daily basis her husband is picking up empty beer bottles/cans from behind the house. She also related that daily around 4:30 and 5 p.m. there are kids sitting on the rocks behind their house smoking marijuana. The woman said the kids cut through their yard and she has no problem telling them to get out of her yard. The caller would like some patrols through the Seaside Park area to deter this behavior.
  • A Lime Street resident called police Wednesday to alert them she is in the process of moving and boxes containing china were stolen from her driveway.
  • At 1:52 p.m. Wednesday a person walked into the station with an e-mail. The e-mail is a scam  saying the person is the beneficiary to the late Engr. Jurgen Krugger and was left 3 million pounds in his will. The person did not follow through with a reply e-mail.
  • At 2:09 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Pleasant Street at Smith Street where a car and ambulance had collided. When police got there, the other car was gone and the ambulance driver was not hurt. There was no patient in the ambulance at the time. Later, the driver of the other vehicle in the accident called police to report she was having neck and back spasms and a headache. Police made note.
  • A Ramsdell Road woman called police at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday after having a bizarre encounter. The woman reported that 15 minutes before a woman came to her door and rang the front bell. The homeowner has workmen at the house working on the front and back decks. The woman is described as being in her mid- to late-40s, not wearing makeup, very tight orange shorts and a white tank top. The woman was white, but possibly half-hispanic and had long dark wavy hair, according to the caller. She was also described as being overweight. When the home owner answered the door, the woman asked if she had a dog. The home owner told her no and asked why. The woman said she was taking a poll of how many dogs there were in Marblehead. The woman then asked why she didn't have a dog. The homeowner responded by telling the woman she was a flight attendant and her schedule was not conducive to having a pet. The woman told the homeowner that her husband was in the "plane business." The home owner inquired what he did and the woman told her that "he owns planes." The homeowner was now getting suspicious of the conversation and asked the woman if she lived in town. The woman replied "in Marblehead, Ya." The home owner said "I didn't catch your name"  and the woman became immediately defensive  and asked "Why?" The woman then said her name was "Stacey." The woman abruptly left up Abbot Street. The homeowner said the woman seemed "a little off" and was possibly on drugs. Police told the homeowner to alert the workers to let her know if the woman returns and to also contact her neighbors to be on the lookout. The homeowner will call if the woman returns or if she sees her again.
  • The fire department responded to 1 Humphrey Street Wednesday at 6:10 p.m. for reports of smoldering mulch. The fire was extinguished.
