Police Log: Underage Teens Try To Buy Cigarettes
This is an excerpt from the police long from Wednesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 15 at 7:30 a.m.

- At 12:14 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested John R. Convery, 55, 56 Margin St., Salem, on a warrant after a routine traffic stop on Nahant Street.
- At 1:21 p.m. the clerk at White Hen told police customers were reporting to her that a group of kids was out front trying to get adults to purchase cigarettes for them. One had a blue shirt and khaki shorts on. Police advised the kids to move along.
- At 4:05 p.m., firefighters responded to Lincoln Avenue where an 85-year-old woman's oxygen tank had a hole it in. Oxygen was blowing out the side and icing up.
- At 5:55 p.m., a call came in from a person driving on Atlantic Avenue. The person said the car in front of him was driving erratically and throwing trash out the windows.
- At 10:55 p.m. a Mohwak Road called police to tell them a "beat up, older van" was circling the neighborhood and then parked at the corner. Police talked to the van driver who was just taking a break from driving.
