Police Log: Woman Finds $600 In Crocker Park

This is an excerpt from the police log from Thursday, July 29, through Sunday, August 1 at 6 a.m.

  • At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a Sevinor Road resident told police about witnessing a tan pickup truck taking people's recycling bins. Police didn't find anything.
  • At 9 a.m. Thursday, a Longview Drive resident found a car's window had been smashed and laptop taken. 
  • At 9:29 p.m. Thursday, an employee of The Barnacle was trying to prevent a patron from getting in a car. Police drove the person home.
  • At 9:03 a.m. Friday, a woman called police and said her foot slipped from the brake and hit the gas before she ran her car into the back of the CVS building at 4 Commercial St. No injuries or structural damage to the building was reported. The woman's car was reportedly "a mess."
  • At 10:15 a.m. Friday, a person called police to report a man was sitting in a cream-colored Lincoln and there are no businesses in that area of Humphrey Street.
  • At 11:36 a.m. Friday, a woman found a bag in Crocker Park. While at first, the woman thought "it contained just crap" when she looked further into the bag, she found more than $600 cash. The person who lost the money can call the police.
  • At 7:15 p.m. Friday, three teens were seen exiting the closed Eveleth School. Police transported them to the station.
  • At 8:13 a.m. Saturday, a man walking on Pleasant Street called police after he saw a man with red hair and a goatee looking into barrels along the street. The man also followed him for a short time he said.
  • Twenty-one citations were issued for "click it or ticket" on Saturday.
  • At 12:28 p.m. Saturday,  Matthew Alexander Kastle, 37, 218 Washington St., Marblehead, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a domestic dispute on Washington Street.
  • A Front Street resident called police at 3:20 p.m. Saturday to say he "misplaced" his vehicle somewhere around Evans Road. He would come back in and report it if he wasn't able to find it.
  • At 11:38 p.m. Saturday, a person on Auburndale Road reported that there was someone outside whom he believed was  impersonating an officer. The man stated that the impersonator was sitting on the side of the road with his fog lights on and was sounding off a siren. The car was described as a medium, blue sports utility vehicle. Police were not able to locate the car.
