Resident is Victim of Ninth "Ring and Run"

This is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log from Friday through Saturday morning.

  • Police and Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident at 10:34 a.m. on Friday on Beach Street. The two-car accident did not result in injuries though one person complained of neck pain. One car was towed.
  • At 1:05 p.m. Friday, a Pinecliff Drive resident called to complain that there was a bulldozer with cones around it parked next to the telephone pole. She was worried that with the 45 mph gusts  predicted for Marblehead, the wind would blow the extended arm and bucket into the phone pole that it was parked next to it, which would cause her lose power and her sump pumps wouldn't turn on and her basement would flood. Police asked the contractor to move the bulldozer.
  • At 10:27 p.m.  Friday, a Franklin Street man reported being the victim of a "ring and run." Someone rang his doorbell then took off. This was the ninth incident in the past two months. His house has also been egged and excrement left in a bag on his doorstep.
  • At 12:48 a.m. Saturday, police were called to Harris Street for a report of two people trying to kick a door down. The party was gone when police arrived.
