Town Beaches Closed Due To Bacteria Levels
Six beaches are closed at least until Saturday afternoon.
The Board of Health has closed six area beaches after they failed to meet the minimum standards for bathing.
The Board of Health has closed and posted the following beaches: Crocker Park, Grace Oliver's Beach, Gas House Beach, Stramski's Beach, Sunset Road Beach, and Village Street Pier.
Devereux Beach was tested and passed. The beach remains open.

The beaches will be retested on Friday, but results won't be known until Saturday afternoon.
This is the second time this summer beaches have had to be closed because of elevated bacteria counts.
