Two Marblehead Residents Charged with Drug Possession in New York

New York State police arrested two Marblehead residents Thursday afternoon after their vehicle was stopped going over 90-miles-per-hour on I-90 in Chatham, N.Y.

According to state police, the operator, Phillip Cheney, 21, was pulled over in Chatham driving 94-miles-an-hour in his 2000 Infinity on Interstate 90.
The trooper smelled an odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle.

During the search the trooper found 9.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 1.6 grams of concentrated cannabis (hashish) and 27.5 grams of marijuana along with two marijuana pipes and a metal grinder.

All substances were found in a duffel bag that belonged to the passenger, Ming Rogers, 21, also of Marblehead. 

Cheney was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Rogers was charged with CPCS 4th, which is a felony, CPCS 7th and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th, both misdemeanors.

Rogers was released on $1000 cash bail and Cheney was released on appearance of a ticket.
