Week In Review: June 21 To June 27

With teachers and students prepared for their summer plans while the School Committee was busy contemplating the future of the newly hired business manager.

On Wednesday, the committee decided, in executive session, to re-open the position after Brian Salzer was hired without committee approval at a higher than budgeted salary.

Also this week, a Marblehead grandmother was convicted of drunken driving with her grandson in the car while a local teen will serve time for beating another teen last fall.

This week, we also saw the creative work of charter school students in their end-of-the-year exhibition and one businesses two local moms started, that is taking off.

With the July 4 weekend almost upon us, locals had plenty to do this weekend to gear up.

From the Cal Ripken Baseball Tournament to a new show opening at Marblehead Little Theatre, there was no shortage of weekend plans.
